To Community Members of Noblesville Schools,
It is my pleasure to write this letter on behalf of Brad Helvey. I’ve had the privilege of working with Brad for over five years. Brad is a skilled and experienced craftsman who has built several custom items for our family, in addition to serving as the general contractor for a large remodeling project to our home. More importantly, Brad is a former educator who is committed to doing what is best for Noblesville students and families.
As a proud father to three Noblesville students he is dedicated to excellence in academics, strong district communication and responsible fiscal management. As a former teacher myself, I recognize the importance of these fundamental pillars for all school districts.
Brad is highly organized, detail oriented, an exemplary leader and a man of great integrity. I admire his commitment to serving as a leader of the Noblesville community through example.
It is with great confidence that I offer my support to Brad Helvey as a school board member. He would be a significant asset to the students and families of the Noblesville Community.
Sincerely,
Mollie Callahan
I’m excited and thankful to have the opportunity to write this letter of recommendation for Brad Helvey.
I met Brad and his wife Selena over a decade ago when I was volunteering at Camp Challenge in Alaska, along with our church’s youth group. Brad and Selena gave our group direction on how we could best serve the camp, from kitchen work, to community outreach to upkeep and renovations to the camp grounds.
I quickly learned that Brad’s leadership and organization at Camp Challenge made that place special as they served their surrounding community well. They helped to create and sustain a safe and beautiful place where families and youth could connect with each other and God. In our initial week-plus of serving together, I got to see that Brad’s leadership style was effective with both adult volunteers and staffers, as well as Senior High volunteers. His skills had been honed in the years prior to moving back to his home state of Alaska, when he worked as an educator.
Family brought Brad and his family back to Indiana, where his twin daughters were born. Now, as his son prepares for his Senior year at NHS and his daughters prepare for their Freshman year there, he looks to make impact for Miller families on the school board. His drive to follow Christ first, and subsequently lead within family and community, guides his daily decision-making as a servant and leader.
Brad and I led parallel boys Senior High small groups at Church at the Crossing in Indianapolis, where he met weekly with them, and related daily to the members of his group. Being always available to them, he helped navigate the sometimes-tumultuous waters of high school life by listening to their questions, and answering them accordingly, when asked. Even today, he stays in touch with many of these guys, who are now husbands and Dads. His impact, just in that community, will be felt in coming generations.
I appreciate Brad as a friend and fellow Dad, and fully-recommend him as a future member of the Board of Education for Noblesville Schools.
Thanks for your time,
Ryan Dowd
